What Causes the Blockages We Clear in Rose Bay
Two things gang up on Rose Bay's drains: the material they were laid in, and where all the water ends up when it really rains.
Most of the pre-war housing went in with earthenware clay drains. Decades of ground movement work those joints apart, and a joint that has opened is an invitation to roots and silt alike.
